Here's some things that have been making me laugh lately.
My son's receeding hairline
It's all falling out on the top and making him look like a little old man. SO. DANG. CUTE. Mike also mentioned to me that he looks a bit like a little old man who's going through puberty because he's still got the "milia" baby zits. SO. DANG. CUTE. and a little funny.
My son's large pants
He's SO long, but he's a super super skinny little guy, and all his pants seem to fall off the minute we pick him up. This outfit was given to him by his Grammy Lay, and he wore it to his first week at church on sunday. Nobody actually got to see him in it, since mom is still paranoid about germs and wouldn't let anyone hold him or take him out of his carseat except dad. Oh well, there's always next week (well, next month probably before I let anyone hold him.......... paranoia runs rampant in my brain). I laugh at him, but not in a mean way.
The difference between boys and girls
I went to Montana for a visit with my family at the beginning of March. Russell's daugter, June, is about 2 1/2 and as cute as can be. One night we all got together for a family party and my brother Kenny and his family also came. June was staying the night at Grammy and Papa lay's house and her mom was getting her ready for bed and she suddenly decided to drop her panties in the living room while we were all there. Kenny's son Jacob (who comes from a family of 4 boys) was looking at June with a kindof confused/horrified look. He is 7. He is funny. I wish I had a recent picture of his cuteness. Kathy, Jake's mom, kept saying "Jacob! {giggle} Stop staring! {giggle) Give June her privacy!" and trying to put her had over his eyes. The whole scenario was hillarious to me, but then the funniest part was after June had run her little naked bum upstairs and Jacob said "......Uh....THAT was AWKWARD." Kathy and I thought we were going to roll on to the floor laughing. The pic below is of my brother russ, his oldest daughter Eliza (in front), June on his back, and CJ behind her.
Sisterly Love
I love love love my sis. She is fantastic. While I was home I spent a day at her house. She and her hubby have been trying to decide whether or not to take a trip to Cali, so I decided to help her figure out the expenses. We began by trying to figure out gas mileage.......... Those of you who know me, know that my math skills are SEVERELY lacking, but it's just gas mileage. Easy schmeezy, right? Uh, unless you're the Lay sisters. We tried and tried to figure it out and somehow I came up with the number 52 on the calculator, so I looked at Janet and said (dead serious) "Ok, so you'll have to fill up 52 times between here and California." We laughed so hard we almost cried. Guess you had to be there...... and ps- we did eventually figure out the correct answer. We are smart.

Name calling and Pets
Yesterday Cecily found her little piggy bank after a 3 or 4 month abscence from the toy box. She saw it when I was putting groceries in the back of our car and snatched it up and started playing with it. She was thrilled. We ran a few more errands and I kind of forgot she had it. All of the sudden, I hear her yell out from the back, "Mama, you a pig!" At first I thought "where did my daughter learn this rude behavior!" but then she followed it up with " I a baby pig too!" and I laughed.
Later that day she went to the neighbors house to see thier new 50 gallon fish tank. Elizabeth said "Look, Cecily, we have lots of fish as our pets!" to which Cecily replied, "Oh. We have a pig." and I laughed again.
Not exactly funny, but oh, so sweet.
I love these two little buttons with my whole heart and soul. I am glad I get to be with them for forever and always. Glad they are here to make me laugh and help me love.
