Full House

Samantha and Logan- My sister Janet's kiddies
Cecily and her cousin Rebecca (who is 3 months)
Logan- perhaps one of the cutest 3 year olds ever

Oh my oh my oh my. So much has happened in the past week. Where to start? Mike went to a week of training in Denver CO, so it was just CJ and I until Wednesday....... That's when the adventures began..... Sean, mike's younger brother came to visit, 'cause he needed a break from life in Cali, so we went to the strip to pick him up. We were excited to have him come. (ps- I stayed up until about 2 on tuesday night cleaning the whole house except the upstairs. I worked that night so I didn't start 'til 10 or so) Wednesday night rolled around and I got a phone call from my cousin Michelle. She and her family broke down by Baker, CA and needed me to come help them. I ran around like a crazy person trying to clean my upstairs so they could stay there. Needless to say, most of the junk got thrown into my bedroom..... Anyway, they were with me until thursday afternoon and (thankfully) Mike got home that night. It was fun to see them, and I was happy to help them out. My sister Janet and her fam came Friday and stayed until Monday morning on their way to Cali to visit Ross' family. Again, it was fabulous to see them, but it made for a crazy weekend. Monday afternoon I packed up the girl and we drove to Laughlin, NV to see Mike 'cause he's there this week on business and 2 weeks away from Daddy is TOO LONG! Today we drove back because I have to work tomorrow (poo!). SO, that's the week I've had. I feel happy and drained all at the same time. I wish my hubby were at home, but somebody has to pay the bills.

In other news, I accidentally left my wallet in a wal-mart shopping cart just as I left town for Laughlin. I called and they said they had it. Today when I picked it up it still had my ID and credit cards and debit cards and checkbook in it, but the $75 in cash I was going to use for my trip was (of course) gone. I knew it would be, but seeing it gone today made me so angry. I guess I was hoping against hope that people were decent. Nope. I guess since it's something I would NEVER think of doing, maybe I thought others wouldn't either. My mama raised me better than that, but not everyone had a mom as great as mine. Oh well. Mike keeps telling me to get on my knees and be thankful that they didn't take our cards. He's a better person than me. I am grateful, though, don't worry. It could have been SO much worse. I hope the little cart pusher who stole my moolah enjoys it. The poop. (just kidding- i don't know who stole it- maybe they needed it more than me).

So this is the longest post ever. Hope you enjoy!

Daughter of a Hair-dresser

Ok, so, I'M the daughter, not Cecily. My mom has pics of my older sister Janet with curlers in her hair, so the other day when Cecily had them in, I couldn't resist snapping a few shots. Please excuse her runny nose and the fact that she's gnawing on a wagon wheel puff. She's teething again and she's got an ear infection (the 3rd one in the past 5 months, ugh). So, mom was trying to keep her happy and quiet for a few minutes. Hooray it worked!
When we took her to the doctor on Wednesday we found out that she's in the 60th percentile for weight, and she's 95th for height and 90th for head size. I think she'll be tall. Mike says the big head size is a Vincent thing............... I still think she's adorable. AND, Cecily didn't even cry at all when they gave her the Polio vaccine and pricked her toe to test for anemia. I was all geared up to comfort her, but she didn't make a peep. She's such a trooper. Thats the news for now............ check in later for more exciting adventures ............. (yeah, right).

Beautiful Brielle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On our way back from Montana we were able to stop by Rexburg and snap some pics of the cutest little girl in the whole town (and probably all of Idaho). How lucky are we?

Isn't she beautiful? Mike and I couldn't get over it.
I totally think newborns can smile! It's not gas, it's love!

Aaaawwwwwww

And now..................... introducing.................... the all new............. Brielle Horrocks! Born on July 8th. CONGRATULATIONS Rachel and Bren (new mommy and daddy)! We love you guys and are so excited that Cecily has a new adorable little cousin. P.S. for those of you who don't know, Rachel is Michael's younger sister.

You Are Pocahantas!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Free-spirited and wise. You have a strong passionate spirit that touches and changes all who know you. The wisdom and common sense that you have is really what guides you through life. Even so, you also have a very playful side that loves adventure and excitement.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

Ok, so something is wrong here............ I figured I'd be Aurora or Belle or Cinderella or at least Ariel, for heaven's sake! I guess I'm more of a nature girl than I thought. I probably should be doing more productive things with my life than figuring out which Disney princess I am, but oh well. It was fun. So much for being princess Aurora. She's my favorite. I'll go pick some flowers or something and embrace my Pocahantas-ness.

Oops!

I forgot to put the video of Cecily's talent up!  We made her a costume cape and a crown.  Her talent was walking (with a little help from the baby doll stroller).  Happy 9th month, Cecily!  9 months  and already so cute and talented.

HOORAY! for so many reasons......

We're in the back of the raft on the left.
Me cliff jumping- check out my roots!  I got foiled the next day (thank goodness!)
Cecily and her cousin June
Cyril with his french flag birthday cake at the Gates of the Mountains
Cyril and his kids. I took this pic with my new camera!  Benjamin and Melodie are his kids.

Do you like the pics?  Explanations to follow!  Here's a little song:  Montana, Montana, glory of the west!  Of all the states from coast to coast you're easily the best! Montana, Montana, where skies are always blue.  M-O-N-T-A-N-A, Montana, I love you!
This is my state song, and I LOVE Montana!  We've had a fantastic week here, and we'll be sad to leave in a few days.  We've been hanging out with family for my parents 40th wedding anniversary and doing  "FAP" stuff.  My siblings thought we were too young for family reunions, so we call it a "Family Anniversary Party" instead.  On the 4th we floated down the Missouri in rafts, which was oodles of fun, except for Cecily who hated her bulky life jacket.  I even jumped off a cliff, which totally made me nostalgic about my high-school days.  On Saturday we had a family talent show (Cecily's talent is in the little video- she was amazing!). Then on Sunday we went to church  and had a Luau and then family pics, which I took.  Then Monday, for the grand finale,  we did the boat tour at Gates of the Mountains with the whole family.  It was just great.  We had our friend Cyril Bez and his kids come all the way from France to join in the fun, and it was great to have them here.  Cyril stayed with us as an exchange student when I was 2 (23 years ago) and we feel like he's our french brother.  The past few days after everyone has been leaving has been low key, but fun.  It's great to hang out with family and relax.  Soon it's back to the daily grind in Vegas, but for now- HOORAY!!
The great news of the day!  Rachel, Mike's sister had a baby in Rexburg, Idaho yesterday, so we're headed down there for a day or two to help out.  They named her Brielle and we are so excited to have a cousin on the Vincent side for Cecily to play with.  CONGRATS RACHEL AND BREN!

My New Habit

So, I've started a new little ritual lately. I'm not sure why I'm blogging about this. I guess it just feels good to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, as the case may be). Every night right before I go to bed, I creep into Cecily's room, steal her out of her crib and hold her for a few minutes. Partially because she's so rambunctious lately that she won't sit still, and it's the only time I can cuddle her, partially because I'm working now and I miss putting her to bed, and partially because of recent events. Last weekend I attended the funeral of a baby boy born to a friend of mine. When I found out about his death, I was absolutely heartbroken for his mother and father, and could not imagine the pain they must be feeling. I cried for them, and prayed that God would give them comfort. At the funeral, Ricky, the father of the baby said the closing prayer. He thanked God for the 5 days they were able to have with their little boy. It made me realize how many things I take for granted in this life. I want to make sure that I am taking time to appreciate my little girl and the amazing 8 1/2 months we've had with her. I want to make sure that I'm appreciating how little she is, because I know she won't stay this way for long. I want to be more grateful to my Heavenly Father for my good life. I'm grateful that I've had this experience and the things life teaches us. I have so much to learn. Thanks for listening.
